Charlie's Beginnings

Charlie was born on October 15, 2019 to a beautiful Havanese mom named Layla and a handsome dad called Artie. There were eight puppies in the litter - 6 girls and 2 boys - so Charlie came from a big family! G-Lo and Zayde knew they wanted a girl puppy, so once the little ones were old enough to have company, they visited them at their home in Seattle, Washington to pick one out. They fell in love with all the puppies. They were cute, soft, and extremely squirmy. One of the puppies kept coming over to G-Lo and trying to get her attention. She wanted to play and sit in her lap. She was very active, flopping and bouncing all over the place, pouncing on top of her brothers and sisters. That's the puppy G-Lo and Zayde decided to bring home. Some of the pups were chocolate and white, and some were black and white. Can you figure out which one is Charlie?

*** Fun fact: G-Lo and Zayde started off calling their new puppy Sophie. Once they got to know her, they began calling her Charlie because the name really seemed to suit her!

This is the first picture of the puppies that G-Lo and Zayde saw.

Mom Layla and Dad Artie are inspecting their litter. The puppies are just four weeks old in this picture. They are so proud of their babies.

These are the four chocolate and white girls. They were too young to go to their forever-homes on this day, but they did accept visitors. This was when G-Lo and Zayde picked out the bouncing, pouncing puppy who later became known as Charlie.

For the first three weeks, Layla was very protective of the puppies. She didn't want people to get too close to them. By the time we met her, she trusted humans to play with her babies. She was so sweet and loving. Layla seemed happy to know that one of her babies was going to go home with G-Lo and Zayde.
